Dear Dream

17 Feb

Dear Childhood Dream,

Last week I went to the dentist and he said that because of my age some of my problems couldn’t be fixed because of my age…as dramatic as this may sound, that’s when it hit me.

I think it may be time to let some things go, and by ‘somethings’ , I mean you.

Today I cried as I accepted that fact. there comes a time in a girls life when she just has to grow up and be practical.

There are times when she just has to resign to the fact, there’s time to try everything in her power to make things work and there’s a time to let go and just live.

I once believed that it is our dreams that keep us alive, now I believe in making lemonade of the lemons handed to me.

So now childhood dream, I think this is where our  paths part.

“Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams die, Life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly, Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams go, Life is a barren field, Frozen with snow”

What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore–And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.
    Or does it explode?

    Langston Hughes

I thought of Hughes when I read your blog. Don’t give up on dreaming. Live your life as fully as you can within the scope of your abilities.
I’ve thought of you often since I stopped blogging last year and wondered how you were. Hang in there sweet Mickey. It sounds like you are experiencing a lot of challenges in your life right now. I have mixed feelings about your classmates and the instructor. They probably simply didn’t know what to do, if they were even aware something happened. What could they have done? If there is a possibility that this episode might happen again, perhaps you could as someone who sits next to you if they would be willing to help and tell them what to do. It has nothing to do with being a Christian. It has to do with a lack of knowledge. You said you were still in your seat when you came to. Did they even notice? Was this the first time something like this happened to you? If so, the lecturer probably wasn’t even aware if you stayed in your seat. Take care, dear. I hope you find a way to satisfy your at least some of your dreams a little at a time.

      Hi Annie!
      It’s been a while.
you always know what to say. its not something I’ve not heard before though, or told myself. This is just a case of being realistic, and if an opportunity comes up in the future well and good but for now I think I’ll just put it to bed.

As for the class incident, there’s more to it than I posted, that’s why I was so angry…that’s over now though.
